What a beautiful park. We had 6 rigs and the parking to register was not large enough for us all. The check-in person told us our site numbers and to go and park and return later to register. What a great way to treat your clients. Got some beautiful pics of the train as it came through. Didn't use the facilities so I only graded a 9. Exceptional place to stay in Durango and the free trolley makes it even better. No hassle parking downtown. If in Durango stay here: almost like being at home.
A very nice park: welcomed us with open arms and treated us very nice. The sites are a bit small for todays 30+ft rigs, and with 2 rigs having to be backed into a spot next to the river, it was a tight fit. The pull-through sites are very close together, and when the awning was pulled out, it over-hanged the neighbor's awning (good thing we were all together). Very easy walk to town and easy drive to a lot of sights in the area. The owners/managers of the park seemed to think that allowing their very young kids to ride round and round on a quadrunner during the evening hours was ok. Gathered around the fire trying to talk and have fun was interrupted by this quadrunner going back and forth for an hour or so. Even during the day, these very young people were allowed to drive a motor vehicle inside the park. This is unacceptable after paying a premium price to stay here. Yes, I and my group would be happy to stay here: just keep the youngsters off the motorized vehicles.
Just a great park. Lots of room to park the rig and lots of room to just wander around the park. Excellent check-in people and the rest rooms were protected by putting up a refundable $5.00 upon return of the key. Very large store and gas/diesel pumps on the property so you didn't have to drive around town for fuel. Easy in and out access: would rate a 10 but didn't use the shower or rest rooms. This is a great park to stay the night.
The staff was excellent and helpful. We had 6 trailers and got checked in with no problems. We had reservations but the office had no knowledge of them because the Vegas office didn't notify this campground. Biggest problem is the shower facilities which has no changing room when you get ready to shower. You take your clothes off and leave them in the main hallway with no control over them, anyone coming in can see you 'stark nekkid' and the only cover is the shower curtain when your in the shower. This is not acceptable. The park was clean, well kept and in great condition. We would recommend this park and return. Please get some better shower change rooms.
Always clean, green lawn, everything in good working order. Have stayed here several times and the people bend over backwards to help you in anyway possible. If you don't want sewer or cable, pay less money and stay on the grass in the tent area. Quiet and almost by yourself. This was an overnight stay and a disconnect was not necessary.this is an excellent park to stay in just for overnight or spend a couple days and visit the klamath river and points of interest.
This park has gone downhill from previous years. The new corporation has let the RV park go without any care. No green grass, the 50amp plug was covered with cobwebs and didn't appear usable, the "fast high speed Wi-Fi" was almost non working and the office called twice to have the server reset. I lost connection with the net so often I just stopped using it. The ladies restroom door wouldn't open and when someone came to fix the lock, they simply did something to keep the door from locking and it was open to the public after that. The restrooms are in need of some paint and remodeling. As an employee told me, the corporation instructed them to let the park go and do only the maintenance needed to keep it open. They are doing that very well. Because of the location to the beach and the ease of parking the trailer, I would return but for the nightly rate of $35.00, I get the feeling of being robbed. Lower the cost to $20 or so or spend some money to upgrade. There is no supervision or host at the park so anything goes and anyone can come in at any time. It is quiet after 10pm but usually the RVers are older and retired people or campers with experience and know the rules. If the corporation would spend some money and fix the restrooms, plant some grass and do a bit of upkeep, this would be a great park again, like it was several years ago.
